For the first time, ChessFest comes to the cathedral city of Coventry for a day of fun, family-friendly, free chess activities. Please join us and our amazing team for a great day out. From young to old, beginner to grandmaster, ChessFest Coventry has something for everyone:

  • Free chess lessons for children and adults from CSC tutors

  • Chess tournaments, open to everyone

  • Puzzle challenges with prizes

  • Simultaneous displays against top West Midlands experts

  • Blindfold chess display

  • Giant chess sets for visitors to play on

  • Casual chess tables for children and chess fans to play against each other, and much more

Coventry is also playing host to the 2026 British Chess Championships which are being held at the University of Warwick in August.

By Train
Broadgate is approximately 15 minutes’ walk from Coventry Station, which is on the West Coast Main Line.

By Bus
Broadgate is well served by local busses and is a short walk from the Well Street stop (stop BS3)

By Car
Broadgate is easily accessible on foot from several of the city centre car parks including the Salt Lane Multistorey Car Park.
